Summer Camp - Mosquito Net

Although there are very few mosquitoes Ransburg the scouts take mosquito netting to keep the bugs off of them at night. The main bug is the daddy long legs a harmless but pesky spider.

The scouts sleep on a cot in a canvas tent with a wooden floor; a nice setup but with very little insect protection. Most scouts take 4X 3-4 foot ½ in PVC pipe and duct tape one piece to each corner of the cot to make a 4-poster bed setup. They drape the mosquito netting over the top. The thicker the pipe the harder it is to tape to the cot but the nicer the netting hangs.
