Christopher R. Weiland, age 20, a lifelong resident of Naperville, IL, passed away unexpectedly on December 28, 2014. He was born in Winfield, IL on November 24, 1994.

Chris was a graduate of Naperville Central, class of 2013, and enjoyed competing on the cross country team and being a part of the gymnastic team. He was currently studying Geology at the College of DuPage. 

Chris joined the Cub Scouts in 1st grade and was proud to earn his Eagle Scout in 2012 with Troop #505 in Naperville. He had a lifelong love of music and especially enjoyed the production aspects of the industry. Chris was most happy outdoors camping or kayaking with his friends. He will be truly missed by all who loved him and called him their friend.

Chris was the troop’s 162 Eagle Scout. Our campfires will never me the same without you.

"Really hard to hear something like this, especially when you know the person. Chris Weiland was a great person. He was a very active guy and I loved growing up with him in my Boy Scout Troop. Chris was a great leader and help me along with many other of my fellow scouts learn how to do many things, such as tie knots and build a fire. The best times were when Chris was around. Rest In Peace Chris."

We would anticipate that the Weiland family would appreciate a visible sign of solidarity and support from Troop 505 at Sunday’s visitation.  We would like Troop attendees at Sunday’s visitation wear their Scout Class A uniforms. The visitation at the funeral home runs from 2:00PM to 6:00PM on Sunday.  We are planning on arriving at the visitation at 3:00PM on Sunday

Visitation will be Sunday, January 4, 2:00 until 6:00 PM at the Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, January 5, 1:00 PM, at Alleluia Lutheran Church, 4055 Book Rd., Naperville, 60564. Inurnment will follow at Naperville Cemetery.
